His Father Passed Away, Ustaz Derry Sulaiman: I'm Very Shocked

Kapanlagi.com - Thursday (11/12) became a day of mourning for the extended family of Ustaz Derry Sulaiman. His father named Nashrullah bin Ismail passed away at the age of 67 after dawn prayer.

The deceased's body has been buried at TPU Khusus Griya Serpong Asri PSPJ Ar Rahman, Cisauk, Tangerang on the same day. When meeting with the media, Ustaz Derry Sulaiman revealed that he had a video call with his late father before.

"Thank you, friends, for your condolences. This is very shocking because we were still in communication last night. My father and I were still having a dialogue, still talking, still having a video call earlier this morning. Suddenly, he had difficulty breathing, and I recited 'lailahailallah, lailahailallah', and he had already passed away," he said when met on Thursday (11/12).

Having lost his father suddenly, Ustaz Derry Sulaiman admitted that he was shocked, "I was in Semarang and I immediately took a flight this morning. I am very shocked because my father was not sick in a strange way."

"That's the proof that death has no relation to illness. When it's time to go, whether you're healthy or sick. I ask all viewers and listeners to pray for my father, at least send Al-Fatihah for my father to ease his burial. He was a righteous person, a good person," he added.

When asked about his father's condition during a video call, Ustaz Derry Sulaiman answered, "He was sick again, having a difficult time, having stomach pain. I recited the phrase 'lailahailallah, Allah, Allah'. Then I turned off my phone, and two minutes later he was gone."

Although there are still many regrets, he has accepted his late father's departure with sincerity. "It's Allah's fate, what else can we do? It's definitely sad, there are regrets. Because there are many wishes of my father that have not been fulfilled," he concluded.
