In relation to this matter, Otto Hasibuan also stated that his client will not take responsibility for compensating the victims' losses. This is because Olivia is considered mature enough to bear the losses on her own.
"Nia will not be held responsible. Nia has no connection whatsoever to this case. Oi already has a husband and stands on her own, so her legal actions are no longer Nia's responsibility," said Otto Hasibuan when met in Slipi, Jakarta, on Thursday (12/21).
Otto also mentioned that Nia Daniaty never knew that she was involved in a lawsuit to compensate the victims of fake civil servant recruitment conducted by her child. Therefore, Otto became Nia's legal representative if she is forced to compensate for the losses.
“She didn't know there was a case, didn't receive any summons. Suddenly, there was already a decision. I inform all parties, if there is any issue related to Oi, don't involve Nia," he said.
"Don't let anyone try to terrorize or intimidate Nia. If someone bothers her, of course Nia can report it to the authorities," he added.
In addition, Otto Hasibuan mentioned that Nia Daniaty feels afraid after being sued for Rp 8.1 billion in compensation by the victims of fake civil servant recruitment, Olivia Nathania. Nia even asked for legal assistance because she is afraid that her house will be forcibly executed by the court.
“She's afraid, because she heard that her house will be executed. Should I sell the house? That's what she said," he concluded.
For your information, Olivia Nathania and Rafly Novianto Tilaar were reported to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police for fraud under the guise of a civil servant selection process in September 2021. At that time, there were 225 victims who reported with a total loss reaching Rp 9.7 billion.
As a result of the victims' reports, Olivia Nathania was declared a suspect and has been sentenced to three years in prison. Meanwhile, Rafly Novianto Tilaar was released from all charges due to lack of evidence of involvement in the fake civil servant selection fraud.
