The Indonesian film industry welcomes a fresh work that raises the theme of martial arts sports. RR Pictures, a production house from Bandung, collaborates with Citrus Sinema to present the latest film titled Hubae Boy. This film is directed by Pritagita Arianegara, a talented filmmaker known for her touching works.

Hubae Boy offers a different story from typical teenage films. Set against the modern backdrop of the city of Bandung and with visually appealing imagery, this film attempts to instill values of sportsmanship through the sport of taekwondo, which is currently popular among the youth. Producers Risdi A. Sulaeman and Vialga Claude Makaya, along with Executive Producers Irma Risma and H. Diding Supriadi, hope that this film will not only entertain but also inspire.

This film's story centers around Verril, a lazy teenager who prefers to spend his time playing games. However, his life changes drastically when he falls in love with Qiara, his classmate. To win the heart of his crush, Verril must challenge himself to join the taekwondo club and leave his old habits behind.

Verril's journey from a gamer to a junior taekwondo athlete or hubae is the core of this engaging story. This character transformation teaches the importance of strong determination and changing one's lifestyle to be more positive. The film features a lineup of talented young actors such as Emiliano Cortizo, Hasyakila, Rientammy Osava, and senior actor Billy Boedjanger.

The collaboration between Bintang RR Pictures and Citrus Sinema is expected to expand the film's audience reach, both locally and internationally. Citrus Sinema will have full control over marketing and distribution, ensuring that the film can be enjoyed in theaters as well as on OTT platforms.
