Indonesian Movie Actors Awards 2024 Held Again, Vino G Bastian Crowned as New Judge

Kapanlagi.com - The Indonesian Movie Actors Awards (IMAA) will be held again this year on October 15, 2024. This event is one of the important moments in the Indonesian film industry.

Dini Putri, as the Programming & Acquisition Director of RCTI, emphasizes their commitment to continue supporting the advancement of the national film industry. Dini revealed that the growth of the Indonesian film industry has been rapid year by year and serves as motivation for them to continue innovating.

"We are very happy, the journey of IMAA is definitely not easy. What makes us happy every year is that the expectations become motivation so that the industry continues to move and it is proven to keep growing, and the growth is very visible from the numbers and the regeneration," said Dini Putri at the IMAA press conference in Kebon Jeruk on Friday, (13/9/2024).

Dini also noted a significant increase in the number of films and production houses participating in this year's event. "The number has increased significantly, with 78 films and 29 production houses registered. Every year it keeps increasing and we hope this continues," she added.

Robert Ronny, Producer and Chairman of the Jury, stated that this year's judging process will be very competitive. "Every year is interesting, with Nugros, Vino, Titien, Luna (the discussions become) engaging, so intense that it can last all day because we really care and take our jobs as judges seriously," said Robert Ronny.

Vino G Bastian, who has the opportunity to be a judge this year, is certainly looking forward to this being his first experience. That's why he is very enthusiastic.

"It is a great pride and honor for me. Usually, I am nominated, last year I brought home my IMAA trophy, I am grateful. Now that I am a judge, I am even more grateful because judging is not that easy," revealed Vino.

In addition to Vino G Bastian, several well-known actors and directors are also joining as judges in this year's event. Among them are Marcella Zalianty, Lukman Sardi, Luna Maya, Fajar Nugros (director and writer), and Titien Wattimena (writer).

IMAA 2024 will feature 15 award categories divided into two main groups. The first eight categories are Best Categories, where the winners will be determined by the Jury's assessment.

Additionally, the other seven categories are Favorite Categories, where the winners will be chosen based on voting results through the RCTI+ application and social media. This voting system is expected to provide broader and more representative appreciation for the films evaluated by the audience.
