Isa Zega Faces 4 Years in Prison After Accusing Nikita Mirzani of Being the Mastermind Behind Assault

Kapanlagi.com - The first trial of Isa Zega, who was accused of defamation by artist Nikita Mirzani, was held at the South Jakarta District Court with the agenda of reading the indictment by the Public Prosecutor (JPU).

"The defendant's statement that Nikita Mirzani was the mastermind behind the assault against him contradicts the actual facts," said Prosecutor Sigit Hendradi when reading the indictment on Wednesday (8/6).

"Witness Nikita Mirzani never committed the actions that the defendant accused her of. She has never gone through legal proceedings until there is a legally binding court decision," added Sigit.

1. Charged under the Criminal Code

Therefore, Isa Zega, who works as an artist manager, will be charged under Article 242 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 310 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code with a maximum sentence of four years in prison.

"As a result of the defendant's actions, witness Nikita Mirzani felt humiliated and her reputation was tarnished," explained Hendradi.

2. Rejecting the Indictment

Isa Zega, who attended the trial virtually from the South Jakarta Metro Police detention center, rejected the indictment. Therefore, Isa Zega and Romadoni, his legal representative, will file an exception.

"We will file an exception to the indictment. We have sent a letter to the prosecutor's office, but the case file has not been sent yet," said Pitra Romadoni after the trial.

3. Assault Victim

As a reminder, the case began when Isa Zega claimed to be a victim of assault in Kalibata, South Jakarta, on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

After getting information from the perpetrator of the assault, Nikita Mirzani's name came out as the mastermind behind the incident.

After finding out that her name was also involved, Nikita Mirzani was not happy and eventually reported Isa Zega to the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police for alleged defamation.
