Jerinx SID Detained for 20 Days in the Detention Center of the Jakarta Metro Police Before the Trial, Facing 6 Years in Prison

After undergoing questioning at the Jakarta Metro Police, Jerinx then came out wearing a red vest and was accompanied by his wife, Nora Alexandra. Jerinx's legal counsel, Sugeng Imam, said that Jerinx is currently being detained for 20 days at the detention center of the Jakarta Metro Police until the trial date arrives.

"Jerinx will be detained for 20 days at the Detention Center of the Jakarta Metro Police," said Sugeng Imam Santoso at the Jakarta Metro Police, Wednesday (1/12/2021).

While walking towards the prison, Jerinx did not let go of his wife's hand. He also mentioned that there is something wrong with his case. 

Nevertheless, Jerinx himself admitted that he will continue to undergo his legal case with full responsibility and cooperation with the police and the court. 

"In essence, I will face everything with gentlemanly behavior," said the owner of the real name I Gede Ari Astina to the journalists.

On the other hand, Bima Suprayoga from the Central Jakarta Prosecutor's Office stated that all of Jerinx's files from the Metro Jaya Police investigators have been transferred to the Prosecutor's Office.

Bima stated that Jerinx violated article 27 paragraph 4 in conjunction with article 45 paragraph 4 or article 29 in conjunction with Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning electronic information and transactions or the ITE Law. Due to this violation, Jerinx faces a prison sentence of 6 years.

"The prosecutor examines the objective reasons, including the 6-year threat, so it is possible to detain him. It depends on the subjective and objective reasons," said Bima Suprayoga.

The feud between Jerinx SID and Adam Deni continues. On August 14, 2021, Saturday afternoon, they were finally brought together at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters. At 11:45 AM, Adam Deni was seen accompanied by his lawyer, Machi Ahmad. The lawyer explained the purpose of their visit.

"This is just a fulfillment of the mediation process that has been regulated based on the National Police Chief Regulation number 2/11/2021. Regarding the implementation of the Information and Electronic Transactions Law, which is compulsory," said Machi Ahmad.

Adam Deni stated that he will follow the rules for the mediation. Although he will go through the mediation process, Adam Deni emphasized that the possibility of reconciliation is very small.

Although he has been forgiven, Yusri Yunus said that Adam Deni wants the legal process for Jerinx to continue as it should. He also mentioned that this is not the only mediation between Jerinx and Adam Deni.

"Personally, I have accepted the apology, but the concerned party, brother ADG, also expressed his request for the legal process to continue. As the police mediator, we cannot force it, it is his right to do so, but on the other hand, we still leave room for mediation until this case is sent to the Public Prosecutor's Office because there is no agreement between the complainant and the defendant," he concluded.

After the mediation lasted for approximately one hour, Jerinx asked netizens not to heat up the issue of his legal problems again. Because Jerinx admitted that he has apologized to Adam Deni.

"Yes, there has been a process of forgiving each other, apologizing. Brother Deni has also accepted my apology. I ask for help, especially from netizens, to stop heating up the situation because problems like this end up with one party winning and the other becoming dust," said Jerinx SID.
