Kimberly Ryder Disappointed Mediation with Edward Akbar Canceled: It's Common

"No mediation took place today because the person (Edward Akbar) did not come as he said he was out of town, supposedly working (he said)," Kimberly stated.  

Kimberly did not hide her disappointment over Edward's absence. Moreover, the next mediation can only be held in early May, which she thinks is quite a long time. "There is definitely disappointment, especially since he is available in early May, which is quite a long time," she said.  

Kimberly's legal counsel, Machi Ahmad, explained that this mediation effort is being conducted for the first time. He also appreciates the South Jakarta Police for initiating the meeting.  

"The mediation was just initiated by the runmor unit for the reported and the reporter. I also thank the South Jakarta Police for initiating mediation between Kimberly and Edward," said Machi.

In addition to discussing the problematic vehicle, Kimberly also had a conversation with the police regarding child-related issues. Machi added that input from the police is very welcome and is hoped to help find solutions moving forward.  

"Earlier, Kim also shared her thoughts with Mrs. Kanit PPA and Mrs. Citra regarding issues related to children like that. Alhamdulillah, the suggestions were also well received," explained Machi.

When asked about the fate of the vehicle that is the focus of this report, Kimberly admitted she did not know its whereabouts. She feels tired with the slow process. "I don't know, still don't know where the vehicle is. That's all," said the mother of two briefly.  

Although the mediation process has been quite difficult, Machi conveyed that there is a glimmer of hope from the letter submitted by Edward to the police. In the letter, Edward mentioned that he needs time until early May to attend the mediation due to work reasons.

"To be a bit balanced, earlier from the letter provided by the reported party to the vehicle unit, besides requesting a schedule in May, he also asked to seek a livelihood in accordance with the court's decision," concluded Machi.
