Elsa Japasal takes on a new challenge in her acting career by starring in the series Leiden by Afe Sinema and MAXStream.

The Leiden series is adapted from the popular Wattpad novel by Dwi Nur Rahmawati. The story highlights a woman facing violence from her parents and getting trapped in a toxic romantic relationship.

In the series scheduled to air on January 24, 2025, Elsa plays the character Karina, the best friend of Rhea, played by Saskia Chadwick.

“I’m really happy to be involved in this series. The story is very relatable to many people's lives,” said Elsa Japasal when met at XXI Epicentrum, Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (21/1/2025).

The woman known by the stage name Eca Aura revealed that she really likes the character Karina. Karina is depicted as a funny woman who also becomes a loyal confidante for Rhea.

“Karina is a funny, calm, and adorable role,” said Elsa, who is now 23 years old.

However, Eca Aura also mentioned that there is a challenging side to her role as Karina, which is portraying deep emotional trauma.

“Karina has such deep wounds, that's what makes it difficult,” he added.

Elsa Japasal shared a story about the shooting process that lasted for a month. She admitted that the experience was very exciting and enjoyable. She feels lucky to be acting alongside actors like Saskia Chadwick, Antonio Blanco Jr, Mieke Amalia, Ferdy Tahier, and others.

“The exciting experience is playing in the shooting location. It's really fun playing with Saskia. But there are indeed many messages to convey in this series, especially about toxic relationships,” she said.
