1. Synopsis Dancing with the Tide

Dancing with the Tide - mydramalist

This drama tells the story of a female thief whose life is filled with struggles to survive during wartime. One day, she accidentally steals ten taels of silver from a young nobleman – who turns out to be a notorious traitor general with the blood of his countrymen on his hands. This incident sparks the general's curiosity about her.

On one occasion, lasting only as long as a stick of incense burns, the general challenges her: if she does not manage to escape before the incense is finished, her safety will not be guaranteed. He begins to chase the thief, turning her life into a dangerous game of cat and mouse.

The woman then escapes to a noble family and acquires a new identity, even marrying into a comfortable environment. She thinks that the hard times have passed. However, one day she looks up and finds the general standing in front of her – smiling and calling her "sister-in-law." The game turns: after losing in her own game, she becomes a prisoner of the general's will. Under his influence, she is tested until she becomes a strong personality like steel amidst the chaos of war.

The appearance of the general is like a boat crossing a river just once, then disappearing into the mist. When every soul is lost in the darkness of that time, is it better to share the same boat home?
