Learn to be a Producer, Pandji Pragiwaksono Raises Series Titled 'NAME FOR A BAND' by His Wife

Kapanlagi.com - After successfully directing several feature films and web series, comedian and actor Pandji Pragiwaksono apparently is not satisfied. This time he tries to expand his role in the Indonesian film industry by becoming a producer.

In learning his role as a producer, Pandji Pragiwaksono made his debut by raising his wife's work, Gamila Arief's NAME FOR A BAND. He explained that initially, NAME FOR A BAND itself was a series that aired on YouTube.

"Actually, I was learning to be a producer after being an actor and director. Then, I made my wife's series a valuable lesson to delve into the job as a producer," said Pandji Pragiwaksono in a press conference for the series NAME FOR A BAND, at Markas Comica, Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta, on Monday (5/6).

"Finally, Mila wanted to take it seriously, so it was produced more seriously. Coincidentally, I wanted to learn to be a producer. Because Mila wanted to seriously direct, finally we made NAME FOR A BAND," he continued.

1. Many Appreciations

Pandji also considered the comedy in Gamila's series to have an unusual comedy from most films or series. He also said that NAME FOR A BAND itself has been appreciated by fellow artists.

"Even Glenn Fredly, Tompi, and others praised this work and even considered it cooler than Partikelir, my work. Finally, we tried to test how serious Gamila is as a director," he said.

2. Wife Has Talent to be a Director

Furthermore, after going through the production process, Pandji Pragiwaksono realized that his wife indeed has talent as a director. In the same occasion, Gamila Arief who attended virtually from the United States, was very grateful that the web series Name For A Band has finally finished production.

"During my time on YouTube, I didn't see it, but when I saw this series, I saw that she could be a director. I received input from the cast of this series, Gamila was mentioned as collaborative and could be discussed about the script," said Pandji Pragiwaksono.

3. Available on Paid Application

"I am very happy to feel facilitated by the actors and the people behind the scenes, their work is sincere. I was helped by all the cool actors here," added Gamila Arief.

The plan is for the web series NAME FOR A BAND to be available on the paid application Comica.id on June 9, 2023. NAME FOR A BAND stars Gamila Arief, Patra Gumala, Mieke Shahrir, Arifin Putra, Randu Danistha, and some famous comedians who make cameo appearances.
