Leaving Her Child for 10 Years, Angelina Sondakh: I'm Not a Good Mother

Kapanlagi.com - After being released from prison, the artist and former member of the Indonesian parliament, Angelina Sondakh, spends a lot of time with her son, Keanu Jabaar Massaid. This is done so that the 44-year-old woman can be closer to her child.

"There are many things that I miss, because maybe I was in prison for too long, missing out on getting to know Keanu's character, maybe being a different kind of mother who can accompany her child during his golden age of growth, there are many things I missed," said Angelina Sondakh at Jeruk Purut Cemetery, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (30/3/2022).

1. Don't Want Distance

This former politician of the Democratic Party said that she doesn't want any distance with her child. When she entered prison, her child was only two years old. Now, after being released from prison, Angelina Sondakh's child is already 12 years old.

"It became very far away, Keanu doesn't know me yet, and that's what I regret the most. In the end, I can still say that I'm still trying to figure out how Keanu is, I know he still has a distance from me that makes me a little sad," said Angelina Sondakh.

2. Prepare Breakfast

There are many ways that Putri Indonesia 2001 has done to get closer to her child. Starting from preparing breakfast before the child goes to school to other needs of Keanu.

"I myself haven't caught up with my own cash, maybe Keanu also wants to talk to me, with my limited information, I have an ego. I don't know much about today's technology, online schooling, and make Keanu feel insecure," she said.

3. Regret Leaving Keanu

As a mother, Angelina admits that she deeply regrets leaving Keanu for 10 years.

"In my heart, I am not a good mother because I left Keanu for too long and Keanu is not at all to blame. Keanu was born 1.5 years after his father passed away and then at the age of 2.5 years he had to separate from me, which made me psychologically free and made me very regretful," she said.
