Legal Counsel Says Jefri Nichol Will Not Attend Trial Proceedings Related to Alleged Breach of Contract Case

Kapanlagi.com - Jefri Nichol, along with three others, is being sued for Rp 4.2 billion by Falcon Pictures. The lawsuit is filed against the 21-year-old actor for alleged breach of contract.

In the clarification hearing held at the South Jakarta District Court, Jefri Nichol did not attend the summons. The film star of Dear Nathan was only represented by his legal counsel, Aris Marassabesy.

"Oh no, Jefri didn't come to this civil trial," said Aris Marassabesy when contacted by phone on Monday (6/4).

1. Session Postponed

The session had to be postponed until April 27, 2020. The postponement was due to the absence of the third defendant in response to the summons.

"Today's agenda, which is the clarification from the third defendant, is postponed because the defendant did not come. The session will be held again on April 27, 2020," said Aris.

Furthermore, Aris Marassabesy stated that it is likely that Jefri Nichol will also not attend the trial process. According to him, it is not a problem as long as it is represented by his legal advisors.

"It's possible that he won't come. Because this is a civil trial, the principal is not obliged to attend and it can be handed over to the legal team," he said.

2. Falcon Productions Sues in Court

Previously, on February 24, 2020, Falcon Pictures production house filed a lawsuit in the South Jakarta District Court with civil case number 171/Pdt.G/2020. Falcon Pictures sued Jefri Nichol as the first defendant, Junita Eka Putri as Jefri Nichol's mother as the second defendant, and Ahmad Baidhowi as Jefri Nichol's manager as the third defendant.

Falcon Pictures filed the lawsuit because Jefri Nichol was deemed to have violated the agreement to work on 4 film titles. However, on the other hand, Jefri Nichol starred in 4 film titles produced by other production houses, namely Dear Nathan: Hello Salma, Bebas, Habibie & Ainun 3, and Ellyas Pical.
