Stanley Fung was a very popular figure in the 1980s to 1990s. He was widely known for his roles in various successful comedy films of his time. According to reports, Stanley had experienced health issues before he passed away.

The news of Stanley's death was first conveyed by Taiwanese parliament member, Tsai Shu-Chun, through a post on social media. In his message, Tsai remembered Stanley as a warm person who always brought laughter and stories to every meeting.

Born in Guangdong, China, Stanley became publicly known after starring in the film My Lucky Stars alongside Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung. Throughout his career, he has appeared in over 100 films and has a signature phrase remembered by many fans, 'Banana, you are a guava'.

Some of his popular films include The Crazy Companies and The Magnificent Scoundrels. Stanley has also collaborated with renowned director Wong Jing, although later he regretted his involvement in some comedy projects and referred to them as 'the biggest mistake of his career'.

In the final days of his life, Stanley wrote a condolence message for his friend, Benz Hui, who passed away earlier at the age of 76. In a post three days before his departure, Stanley wrote that he was in critical condition and fighting to survive.

This humble figure was hospitalized for two months in May 2025 due to pneumonia. Although he had retired since 1986 and chose to live in Taiwan, Stanley maintained good relationships with the fellow artists he had worked with.
