Lyodra Ginting Feels an Unforgettable Moment Meeting Pope Francis, Received Blessings Twice

On this occasion, Lyodra not only attended the Mass celebration led by Pope Francis, but also contributed her beautiful voice. She sang three songs, including one titled Doa Kami.

"I really can't find the words. This is the most memorable performance of my career. Who would have thought that suddenly Pope Francis came to Jakarta, wanted to have Mass with us at GBK, and I could sing," she said at GBK, Central Jakarta, Thursday (5/9/2024).

1. Nervous to the Point of Shaking

Lyodra recounted that her feelings at that moment were not just nervousness, but more like shaking because of the presence of Pope Francis in front of her.

"It wasn't just nervousness anymore, it was more like shaking. Because it felt like the Pope was really right in front of us. While people were trying to come from the morning, crowding, I was singing and could meet him directly and receive blessings," she said.

2. A Rare Opportunity

Lyodra also explained how she got that rare opportunity. She had already known about Pope Francis's visit to Indonesia and immediately contacted the committee.

"At that time, I did ask them (the committee), are you really coming? Do you need me? I mean, if you need me, I am willing to serve. If you want me, the committee wants me, I am willing. Even if not, I would definitely come to attend the Mass," Lyodra explained.

3. Expressing Gratitude

The committee responded positively to Lyodra's offer and appreciated her presence at the Mass event. Lyodra admitted she did not expect to receive more than what she imagined.

"In the beginning, I thought if I didn't have to sing, I could just be part of the celebration. But today I didn't just sing. I'm even more grateful because I offered a gift to the Pope, and I was blessed. So it really feels like, God is so good," she said.

4. Blessed Twice

After her performance, Lyodra had the opportunity to meet again with Pope Francis and receive a prayer directly from him.

"It feels like a dream. God is so good because of what I just said. I thought I was just singing, but it turns out I could be part of the Mass celebration. After it was over, I met him again and was prayed for again, so in total, I met him twice. I'm very happy," she expressed.

For Lyodra, this experience is not just about career achievements, but also a deep spiritual experience. Meeting directly with the leader of the Catholic Church and receiving blessings from him is a moment that is very meaningful for her.
