Mayang and Chika Will Sing and Play Guitar at the 40-Day Prayer Gathering for Vanessa Angel

After the memorial, Mayang and Chika will sing a song as a final tribute. During their performance, a video featuring Vanessa will be played.

These siblings are not only singing, but they will also showcase their guitar skills, which they have learned on their own under the guidance of Doddy Sudrajat.

"We are practicing vocals for Kak Vanes' 40-day memorial. It will be our final tribute to the deceased. There will also be a slideshow of photos of the deceased," said Mayang, interviewed in the Pandemangan area, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (12/1/2021).

Suddenly singing and uploading it on YouTube, Mayang and Chika admitted that it was not Aji Mumpung. They were only singing as a tribute to their late brother.

"No, I didn't have any intention of taking advantage. How could we take advantage when we are still grieving," added Mayang.

2. Not Doddy Sudrajat's Coercion

Furthermore, it was explained that singing was not under Doddy Sudrajat's coercion as widely circulated. Instead, it was Mayang and Chika's own desire.

"Our own desire. There was no coercion. We wanted to show this," emphasized Chika.

3. Single Accident

As previously reported, Vanessa Angel died in a single accident on the Jombang Mojokerto (Jomo) toll road. The artist was known to be traveling by land from Jakarta to Surabaya.

Not only Vanessa, her husband named Bibi Andriansyah also died in the accident. The driver of the car survived but has now been declared a suspect.

As is known, some time ago Mayang and Chika released a music video cover of the song Kemarin by the band Seventeen on the Pro Aktif YouTube channel. After five days of release, the music video has been viewed by 2.7 million viewers.

Both Mayang and Chika did not expect the song they sang to be watched by millions of viewers and even trending on YouTube.

"Yes, initially we didn't expect it to trend. Our initial intention was not to make it trend or anything like that. We came up with the idea to show it on a 40-day basis. We didn't expect it to trend and we didn't expect that," said Chika in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Saturday (27/11/2021).
