Mediation with Ronal Surapradja Fails, Seruni Purnamasari Will Sue for Joint Property and Custody of Their 2 Children

"Today's trial reported the results of the previous mediation and we feel that the mediation process was not carried out in accordance with the rules," said Abdum Hamim Jauzie, Seruni's lawyer after the trial at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Thursday (12/5).

"Bu Runi felt forced to mediate even though she eventually signed and continued, it's not a problem, please proceed," Abdum Hamim Jauzie continued.

1. Will Counter-Sue

After this, Seruni's party said they will file a counter-lawsuit regarding joint property and custody of their two children. This is because Ronal, as the plaintiff, did not include it in his lawsuit.

"First of all, Mr. Ronal did not discuss child custody, child support, and joint property, which we will include in the lawsuit, including mutt'ah idah according to what Mr. Ronal wrote in his lawsuit application. That's what we will sue," he said.

2. Reasons for Not Including Joint Property

Meanwhile, Ronal, through his lawyer Boyke, explained the reasons for not including joint property and child custody in his lawsuit.

"Regarding filing a joint property and child custody lawsuit, it is the right of the parties to file it if they want to," said Boyke.

"Yes, regarding property, how can someone who owns property sue their own property. Ronal cannot file a lawsuit regarding property because all property, whether it is fixed assets or movable assets, is in Ronal's name," he concluded.

3. Experiencing Violence

From the divorce petition material, it was revealed that the household of Ronal Surapradja and Seruni Purnamasari had been unstable since 2012. However, they still held on until the problem arose at the end of 2021. Surprisingly, during their marriage, Runi often experienced psychological violence.

"Many, many (experienced psychological violence)," Seruni whispered.

"Psychological domestic violence in the form of her husband's behavior, there are many things for sure. Basically, I call it psychological domestic violence," added Abdul Hamim Jauzie.

4. Meeting with a Psychologist

Seruni Purnamasari even visited a psychologist. From there, the psychologist recommended that the children follow their mother.

"I was just informed by Mbak Runi that the psychologist recommended that the children should follow their mother. I went there once, the children's mental state is not always affected, but there is a recommendation from the psychologist that the children should follow their mother. That's about it," said Abdul Hamim Jauzie.
