Roy Marten was first introduced to Medina Dina when Gading brought his girlfriend to meet the family. Medina, known as a presenter and actress born on February 27, 1987, made a positive impression on Roy. According to Roy, Medina is a beautiful, polite person, and possesses intelligence.
“Beautiful, I see she is smart. Never marry a stupid woman, poor kids will end up stupid too. Intelligence comes from the mother, while talent comes from the father,” said Roy Marten during an interview at the Pagi Pagi Ambyar studio, Jalan Kapten P Tendean, South Jakarta, Wednesday (13/11/2024).
After that meeting, Anna Maria, Roy Marten's wife, also praised Medina on the way home. “After we got home, in the car (Anna said), ‘Beautiful, right? Nice, right?’, well, you know how it is between women,” Roy added.

“As a Javanese, I read her energy, not her words. The energy is positive, that’s what I read. That's good,” praised Roy Marten, showing his confidence in Medina as a woman who brings a good influence.
However, Roy emphasizes that his introduction to Medina was limited to casual conversation without deeper discussions. Although he views Medina positively, the final decision is still left to Gading.

Roy Marten stated that his blessing is not the main thing, but rather Gading's decision is the key. According to him, as a father, he can only support whatever is best for his son.
“My blessing is not important. Let Gading decide everything because I will surely bless whatever is best for the child. It is Gading's life, he is already an adult, he determines his own history,” explained Roy.
Moreover, Roy often reminds Gading about his increasing age. This was conveyed by Roy in the context of encouraging Gading to decide to get married again, considering the importance of having a life partner at an age that is no longer young.
“I always say, ‘Ding, remember your age. Later you will get older. Later you will take your small child and they will think you are the grandfather,” Roy advised Gading.

As a father, Roy Marten hopes that Gading will soon make a decision regarding his personal life, especially marriage. He mentioned that age is one of the reasons why he continues to advise Gading to take steps forward more quickly.
“As a father, I hope Gading makes a decision quickly because time is running out. I’m afraid that the longer it takes, the older he will get. Gading never asks for my opinion, but we often talk heart to heart. Yes, we touch on that topic (about marriage),” concluded Roy Marten.
