Memories of Nia Ramadhani with Her Grandmother, from Casting Days to End-of-Life Preparations

Kapanlagi.com - Nia Ramadhani and Ardi Bakrie are deeply saddened by the passing of their beloved grandmother, Hanna Louise Poluan, on Friday (24/1/2025). Nia reminisces about the significant role her grandmother played in her life, especially when she began her career as an actress.

"The first time I auditioned, I was accompanied by Grandma, using Grandma's car. Even for the shooting of Bidadari, I also used Grandma's car," said Nia Ramadhani when met at the Sentosa Funeral Home, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (25/1/2025).

1. Lighten the Burden of Grandma

Nia feels very grateful to be able to give the best for her grandmother at the end of her life. Although she admits it cannot compare to her grandmother's contributions, Nia tries to lighten her grandmother's burden during her illness.

"But thank God, now even though it can't compare, when Grandma was sick, God willing, we were able to lighten Grandma's burden," she added.

2. A Role Model for the Family

Ardi Bakrie refers to Hanna Louise Poluan as a figure who serves as a role model for the family. According to Ardi, Nia's grandmother always gave full attention not only to the family but also to her friends.

"She is a very kind woman, very caring towards her grandchildren, her children, and her friends. She has always been an example for all of us," said Ardi.

3. Accompanying Since the Time of Illness

Nia's closeness to her grandmother is one of the things that deeply affected her upon her grandmother's passing. Ardi added that Nia continued to accompany her grandmother from the time of her illness until her last breath.

"I see Nia very sad because she has always been with her Grandma. Even during her illness, we were always together in Jakarta to continue accompanying her," said Ardi.

4. Preparation Before Passing Away

Before passing away, Hanna Louise Poluan had prepared everything for her departure. This was expressed by Nia with deep emotion. The grandmother had even ordered clothes, a coffin, and arranged the details of her funeral procession.

"Basically, when she passes away, she has already bought her own fabric for the dress, and we have sewn it, then we tried it on and made revisions. We made it, we cried, she didn't," Nia said while holding back tears.

5. Arrange Funeral Details

Not only that, the grandmother also personally chose the location of the funeral home and her burial site. In fact, the details of the funeral procession, such as who will hold the photo, the lineup of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, have also been arranged.

"She wants this coffin, so it was bought, the funeral home she wants is this one, and where she wants to be buried. Tomorrow, when we go to the cemetery, there will be a lineup, and we have arranged who will hold the photo, the grandchildren and great-grandchildren are already set," Nia added.

6. The Request of the Late Grandmother

Despite having different beliefs from her grandmother, Nia stated that there were no obstacles in fulfilling her grandmother's request. One of her grandmother's requests was for the family to sing a specific song during the funeral procession.

"Even though we have different religions, I don't mind what Oma asked for. We were told to memorize the song to sing tomorrow," Nia explained.

7. Full of Independence

For Nia, her grandmother was an independent figure who never troubled others. Even when living in the Netherlands, her grandmother lived her life entirely independently.

"She never caused any trouble at all, especially when she lived in the Netherlands, she did everything by herself," Nia reminisced.

8. Lessons from the Late

The passing of Hanna Louise Poluan left many valuable lessons for the family. Besides independence, her grandmother's kindness and attention to many people became a great inspiration for Nia and her family.

"There is so much to learn from Oma. May everything be made easy," Nia concluded with a prayerful hope for her grandmother.
