Tessa Kaunang believes that Sandy Tumiwa's act of posting an edited photo of her is merely a strategy to seek attention. She wonders why she is continually associated with him despite their separation over a decade ago.
"In my opinion, this ultimately makes him a publicity seeker. Why is my face the one being displayed, and not the faces of his other exes? Hehe," said Tessa Kaunang when met in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, on Monday (6/8/2026). Here are the details.
This dispute was triggered by a manipulated photo of Tessa wearing a hijab that Sandy posted with a caption containing a specific prayer. In fact, this mother of two has not maintained any intimate communication with her ex-husband.
"No, I really don't want to communicate with him. I really limit communication with him, because I know his true nature that if you give him a heart... if you give him a heart, he will ask for a liver," he said.
Tessa is worried that her ex-husband's unstable actions will negatively impact the psychological well-being of her children. She wants to maintain the peace in her life that has been stable without any disturbances from the past.
"And if it’s like this, in my opinion, it shows how unstable he is, you know. The father of the children, what is it, why is he still being associated with me, you know," she said.
Since the divorce 12 years ago, Tessa has always tried to keep her distance to avoid pointless arguments. However, the emergence of this unauthorized edited photo forced her to take official legal action through her attorney.
"We already... have our own matters. We have been separated for a long time, 12 years, you know. So we each have our own lives, we are done," he said.
In addition to demanding the removal of the photo, Tessa also requires Sandi to publicly apologize via social media. This is due to the commotion that originated from her digital platform.
"Because he started this commotion through social media, our client's demand is that he must also clarify and apologize through social media," she concluded.
