Netizens' Ignorance Makes Parents Criticized, Atta Halilintar Admits Intentionally Hiding Father's Illness

Kapanlagi.com - Almost a year or more Atta Halilintar lived apart from his parents and nine siblings who were temporarily staying in Malaysia. Recently it was revealed that his father, Halilintar Anofial Asmid, is sick and has undergone surgery.

When asked about his father's illness, Atta Halilintar refused to open up. He doesn't want many people to know, instead it will become a prayer.

"It's better to keep it a secret because it becomes a prayer if it's mentioned. The important thing is that my father shouldn't meet people, he needs to focus on his treatment. My father usually goes to Malaysia, that's why I pray a lot for him when he's there," Atta said when met in the Pondok Indah area, South Jakarta, last week.

Atta Halilitar revealed that his father has been regularly going to Malaysia for his health for a long time. However, due to this ignorance, it has instead sparked criticism from netizens, and the 26-year-old guy finally speaks up.

"Actually, I didn't want to tell the media for a long time. My father has been receiving treatment there for a long time, not just today. But I feel sorry if my parents are attacked by netizens. They need to recover quickly. Let's just pray for their quick recovery, without burdening them with comments like 'Why aren't the parents like this or that'. So I'm forced to speak up because Gen Halilitar has already posted, I also want to post that my parents had a major operation yesterday. There are still many treatments they have to go through, but yesterday was successful," he said firmly.

2. No Turning Back

Once he found out that his parents were sick, there were many comments asking why Atta Halilintar didn't wait for their recovery before holding a series of weddings. According to him, it is no longer possible because the wedding plans have been made long ago and have to be postponed due to the pandemic.

"So it's not about still wanting to get married while my parents are sick or anything. But the wedding date has been set for a long time, and I can't postpone it. I still keep in touch with them. They said, 'Don't worry, everything is going well there'. That already makes me more than happy. It's a mix of everything," he concluded.
