When asked if she allows Lolly to date, Nikita casually replied, “It's fine, as long as it's not with a shoe shiner or similar,” she said at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Wednesday (30/10/2024).
Although allowing Lolly to date, Nikita seems to still want her daughter to build a relationship with a quality and compatible person. Furthermore, Nikita also stated that she intends to arrange a match for Lolly someday. “Surely they will meet, surely they will meet later,” she said.
However, for now, Nikita prefers to focus on Lolly's education. “For now, let Laura go to school first, because she must miss school,” she added.
Nikita stated that there is currently no certainty about when Lolly will return home. Moreover, the case of suspected child sexual abuse and abortion is still ongoing and has reached the investigation stage. “I don’t know when she will come home, because it’s still in process,” she explained.
However, Nikita is confident that with time and the ongoing process, Lolly will be ready to resume her activities outside the Safe House. As a mother, Nikita also expressed many lessons she learned from this experience.
“As a mother, there are so many things. Even though we do our best, it will still seem lacking in the eyes of the child,” said Nikita.
This mother of three understands that as parents, often the best efforts made are still considered insufficient by the children. According to Nikita, the difference in perspective between parents and children is a common occurrence. “If we want to give the best, the child may not agree. That's the risk of being a parent, especially for single parents, just enjoy it,” she said.
Nikita seems to not want to be burdened by the differences in thinking, and instead enjoys the journey as a mother. Nikita Mirzani is also not hesitant to share that as a single parent, she has to face various challenges, including maintaining a balance between providing freedom and guidance. "The important thing is that the children always feel safe and comfortable," she said.
