The location, known as one of the busiest intersections in the world, had to be temporarily blocked for the smooth filming, complete with an escort from the New York City Police Department (NYPD).

Nirina admitted that she couldn't hide her amazement when seeing the scenery that she usually only witnessed in movies. For her, the experience felt very surreal and proud.

"Maybe here the filming is blocked, but over there we feel like wow in a foreign country, blocked, with the NYPD that we see in movies, the cars, the police uniforms, we feel like we are international artists," said Nirina Zubir when met in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, Friday (12/9/2025).

However, amidst that proud feeling, Nirina also shared a funny detail. When curious pedestrians tried to see who the artist was filming, they instead showed confused expressions upon seeing the simple appearance of the actors, which matched the immigrant characters they portrayed.

"In fact, when you see this, people are watching, right? 'Who is shooting this?', while our clothes as Party, Chinta, Mia, are like 'Hah, is this the artist?'," he continued while laughing.

5. Strong Chemistry with the Cast

Besides the unique experience in Times Square, Nirina also revealed that the strong chemistry among the main cast is not a new thing. The emotional bond has been built since the film Ali & Ratu Ratu Queens and has been further strengthened in this series project.

"Everything is intertwined in Ali and Ratu Ratu Queens, and this continues in the filming of this series. We are shooting in a foreign country again, right, so the chemistry is really (strong)," he explained.

Furthermore, Nirina talked about the freedom to act given by the director, Lucky Kuswandi. This trust allows the actors to improvise and make each scene feel more alive and natural, which becomes both a challenge and an exciting experience for them.

"So Lucky gives us freedom. The point is your zone here, you enter where, remember that, but everything, feel free to do what you want to do. As long as you know the point, then we train ourselves to be cohesive and listen to each other. That is our challenge to always listen," concluded Nirina.
