The Chairman of the Indonesian Film Festival Committee (FFI) 2021-2023, Reza Rahadian reveals several criteria for films that are considered eligible for nomination for the Citra Trophy FFI 2023. One of them is a film work that has the opportunity to be involved in international film festivals.

"Because this is an Indonesian film festival, the involvement of Indonesian films in international festivals will certainly be considered by the entire Akademi Citra team," said Reza Rahadian in his press conference in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (2/11).
Reza also explained that this achievement is important for the Indonesian film industry. He also does not want to overlook the moment of pride from a film work that has achieved success abroad.
"That's why the information they will highlight is how a film can achieve remarkable success in international film festivals but suddenly pass by unnoticed in the country?," he said.
In addition, Reza added that the number of viewers in a film does not determine whether the work can be nominated for FFI 2023. Thus, all decisions regarding films that are capable of being nominated for the Piala Citra FFI 2023 are in the hands of Akademi Citra.
"As for the number of viewers, I answer no, the number of viewers does not affect whether the film guarantees a nomination or not, that is beyond our control. Again, the voice is the voice of Akademi Citra," he explained.
"So Akademi Citra is the one who determines all the nominees based on the background of each academy member," he concluded.
