Not Many Know, Raffi Ahmad's Father's Family Struggled from the Bottom Before Success

It can be said that Raffi Ahmad enjoys the fruits of his father's hard work during his lifetime. This was revealed by Raffi's uncle, Wa Uung, who is the older brother of Raffi Ahmad's father, in a video uploaded on the YouTube channel Rans Entertainment.

If we trace their lineage, Raffi Ahmad's grandparents on his mother's side both have Raden lineage. His grandfather, who is a native of Bandung, served as a police general. On his father's side, Raffi Ahmad's grandfather was an Islamic preacher from Pakistan who came to Indonesia around 1939. However, Raffi Ahmad's father's family's life has had its ups and downs. They experienced hardship before living comfortably and becoming very successful.

"So don't be mistaken, my family, my dad and Wa Uung, were not from a wealthy family like now. Wa Uung is now considered very wealthy, Alhamdulillah. But they also started from the bottom," Raffi Ahmad said.

1. Once Lived in Hardship

Before achieving success, the family of Raffi Ahmad's father once lived in difficult conditions, even sleeping close to each other. Wa Uung, as the older brother, always cared for and watched over his younger siblings, including Raffi Ahmad's father. He advised them to always study hard, but in the future, they were free to choose their own paths.

"His father, along with Bang Bari and Bang Wawan, used to sleep with Wa Uung. They were covered and watched over. Wa Uung monitored their studies. Among the three brothers, Wa Uung and I were the same, we had to study. After that, they could do whatever they wanted," said Wa Uung.

2. Living in Sufficiency

After growing up, Raffi Ahmad's father pursued his education in Jakarta, at his grandmother's residence. At that time, they lived in sufficiency because Raffi Ahmad's grandfather, who was a preacher, did not prioritize material possessions.

"Our family used to live in sufficiency. We lived in Jakarta, in the Menteng area, at Jalan Banyuwangi number 7. That was Nini's house. Raffi's father also went to school there, and Uncle Ahmad joined the police force there, in Menteng. We had enough. Because our grandfather was a preacher, he didn't care about material possessions. He focused more on religious education," recalled Raffi Ahmad's uncle.
