Not Only Successful Worldwide with Their Band, These 4 Cool Vocalists Also Have Solo Projects

Success in taking their music group to the world stage and winning many awards is not enough for a vocalist to be satisfied with their achievements. Some of them have side projects in the form of solo careers to develop their musicality. Who are they?

1. Thom Yorke - Radiohead

No one doubts the quality of Thom Yorke and his band Radiohead. The band, which was formed in 1985, has millions of fans and a fan base that spans generations.

Thom Yorke himself, as a multi-instrumentalist with ideals, has not been left behind in releasing solo works. So far, the British musician has released several studio albums such as THE ERASER (2006), TOMORROW'S MODERN BOXES (2014), SUSPIRIA (2018), and ANIMA (2019).

2. Hayley Williams - Paramore

Since its formation in 2004, the rock band from Tennessee has captivated music enthusiasts with their stage performances and original songs. Paramore has released 5 studio albums, all of which have become favorites worldwide.

Interestingly, the success of Paramore did not make their frontwoman, Hayley Williams, complacent. She also has a solo career under her own name. The 32-year-old rocker has released two solo albums titled PETALS FOR ARMOR and the latest one is FLOWERS FOR VASES / DESCANSOS, which was released in February 2021.

3. Patrick Stump - Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy is one of the pop punk bands whose stage performances always satisfy the audience. However, Fall Out Boy took a hiatus to rest and allow their vocalist to release a personal album as a solo artist.

Patrick Stump released an album titled SOUL PUNK in 2011. With a soul & RnB genre, the album sounds contrary to Fall Out Boy's distorted character, although Stump's character in his solo album still has a rocker soul. Nevertheless, Patrick Stump still prioritizes Fall Out Boy, which later released an album titled SAVE ROCK AND ROLL two years after his solo album was released.

4. Luke Hemmings

Following the drummer, Ashton Irwin, who has released a solo album, the lead vocalist of 5 Seconds of Summer, Luke Hemmings, officially released his debut solo album in August 2021. The album titled WHEN FACING THE THINGS WE TURN AWAY FROM has a different style from the music of 5 Seconds of Summer.

Hemmings is seen experimenting in his creativity in this album. Nevertheless, this album remains one of the best of the year with several standout singles such as STARTING LINE, MOTION, and PLACE IN ME.

Achievement is not the end limit in creating. The four talented vocalists mentioned above show that success with their band does not make them complacent and they choose to work as solo artists.
