Unfortunately, Kevin Aprilio's new look didn't entirely receive positive responses. In his Instagram post, there were many netizens who preferred Kevin's face without a beard.

When met in the Pondok Indah area, South Jakarta, on Monday (16/8) afternoon, Kevin revealed his inspiration for changing his appearance with a mustache and beard. Unexpectedly, he mentioned that it was because of his love for game characters and UFC matches that made him want to look different.

"Actually, the inspiration came from game characters, that's it. And I also like watching UFC," said Kevin Aprilio.

1. Personal Satisfaction

Kevin Aprilio also dismissed comments that he wanted to look more handsome and macho with his new beard. He did it all for personal satisfaction only.

"I feel happy, but there are pros and cons, so on social media, some people praise it, but some say it's better natural. It's okay, it's just for personal satisfaction. Not to be considered cooler, just for personal satisfaction," said Kevin.

"Actually, I wanted to do a forehead transplant, the forehead is the most important. But people highlight the beard, even though I went there (Turkey) for the forehead and the beard was just a bonus," he continued.

Furthermore, Kevin Aprilio emphasized that he only underwent hair transplantation on his face for personal satisfaction. According to him, hair on the face has many functions, one of which is to create a slimming effect on the face.

"It's just like this, the beard has various functions. It's not for looking more manly or anything, it can be used for shading, so it can make the face look a little slimmer. It's not for being handsome or more manly, I just want to have it. Because I think guys with beards are fun, they can shave it, they can shape it. Beards are fun, it's more about fun," he concluded.

2. Post Transplantation Care

Not only that, Kevin also mentioned that there is no specific treatment after the transplantation. He even emphasized that there are no side effects from the hair and beard transplantation.

"The treatment is only applying cream after the treatment to heal the wounds, because it was stabbed thousands of times. Then the treatment is just shampoo, vitamins, and pills that need to be taken. This is permanent, you can see that it is already starting to grow," he explained.

"So it feels like having new hair, like having a new child," he added.

Meanwhile, his wife, Vicy Melanie, said that she doesn't mind her husband's new appearance. However, she does prefer Kevin without a mustache and beard on his face.

"I'm fine with it, if he likes it. But I prefer the way he used to be, now he looks more mature," Vicy Melanie concluded.
