Now Only Three Personnel Left, Adam Says Sheila On 7 is Not a Cohesive Band

Kapanlagi.com - It's not easy to maintain a band group for more than two decades. The same goes for Sheila On 7, which is now 28 years old.

Established in 1996, this band from Yogyakarta remains cohesive and existent despite several changes in personnel. Currently, Sheila On 7 consists of three members, namely Duta (vocals), Eros (guitar), and Adam (bass).

Adam said that Sheila On 7 is not a cohesive band. In fact, Sheila On 7 has lost several members in the past.

“The key to cohesion, hehe... until now, Sheila On 7 is not a cohesive band. It started with five members, then became four. Now (there are) only three (members),” said Adam when met in Kemang area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (17/4/2024).

1. Reasons for Survival

Adam reveals the reasons why Sheila On7 continues to survive despite having only three members. According to him, Sheila On7 has remained intact for 28 years because the members have found happiness in making music together.

“Basically, the three of us are still able to find ways to enjoy the process and love playing music together,” said Adam.

2. Not Looking for New Members

Adam then explained that Sheila On 7 has no intention of seeking new members to replace Brian on drums. They have always used an additional drummer to accompany them during performances.

"No (looking for new members) hehe. Just like this (three members)," concluded Adam.
