Nurul Qomar Has a Dream to Go on Hajj with the Four Friends, Unfulfilled and the Plan Changed

Kapanlagi.com - The passing of comedian Nurul Qomar leaves a deep sorrow for family, friends, and fans. One of the late comedian's biggest unfulfilled wishes was to perform the Hajj pilgrimage with the legendary comedy group Empat Sekawan.

"This year he wanted to go together. He wanted to go with Empat Sekawan. That was his dream," said Ginanjar, one of the members of Empat Sekawan, when met after the burial at TPU Carang Pulang, Tangerang, Thursday (9/1/2025).

However, fate had other plans, as Nurul Qomar passed away before he could fulfill that desire. Ginanjar expressed his emotions while discussing the plans that his friend had long dreamed of.

1. Remembering Haji's Desire with the Four Friends

"It turns out Allah has other plans, it turns out Mas Qomar can't join us," continued Ginanjar while crying.

Eman, Qomar's friend in the Four Friends, also reminisced about his friend's strong desire to perform the pilgrimage together. According to Eman, this idea had even been discussed since last year when Qomar was in Arafah.

"In Arafah, he said, next year the Four Friends will go together, 'let's go together!'" said Eman emotionally.

2. Wants to Be the First Comedy Group to Go on Haji Together

For Qomar, performing Haji with the Four Friends is more than just a spiritual journey. He wanted the comedy group that made his name to be the first to perform the pilgrimage collectively.

"He wanted the Four Friends to be the first comedy group to go on Haji together. It turns out Allah has other plans," said Eman.

Nevertheless, Ginanjar mentioned that the possibility of substituting the Haji pilgrimage for Qomar is still under discussion. He admitted that he needs to discuss further with the Haji travel agency to realize that plan.

3. Plan to Be Replaced

"To be replaced, but there are no plans yet. I need to talk to the travel agency. Because the one who replaces must be someone experienced," Ginanjar explained.

Previously, Qomar and his colleagues in Empat Sekawan had performed umrah together twice. However, for the hajj pilgrimage, they had been doing it separately. Badal haji is a hajj pilgrimage performed by someone on behalf of another person.

"For umrah, we have done it together twice. But for hajj, we have done it separately as well," added Ginanjar.

Qomar's desire to perform hajj together is one of the most remembered aspirations by his colleagues. Their planned departure was supposed to take place in June this year, but fate had other plans.

4. Scheduled Departure for Hajj in June 2025

"This pilgrimage month, June if I'm not mistaken," said Eman.

Nurul Qomar passed away on Wednesday (1/8/2025) afternoon at RSUD Tangerang, Banten. He died after battling colon cancer since 2021. Although he was declared cured for a time, the cancer returned at the end of 2023 and ultimately took his life.
