Official Live Action NARUTO Film Seeks Actors for Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura

Lionsgate has announced the start of the global casting process for the live action film adapted from the phenomenal manga by Masashi Kishimoto. Through this audition, the studio will be looking for actors and actresses to portray the three main characters of Team 7, namely Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno.

The announcement marks the latest development in a project that has been announced since 2024. In addition to the three main characters, the search for supporting characters will also take place in the next stage.

This film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who is also responsible for writing the screenplay. He is known as the director of SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS and the upcoming film SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY.

According to Cretton, adapting NARUTO into a live-action film is a great honor because the manga has inspired millions of readers in various countries.

"The stories created by Kishimoto-sensei have inspired many generations of fans around the world, and it is an honor to bring his world and characters to the big screen in live action for the first time. I am very excited to start the search for the Team 7 cast from around the world and to bring the NARUTO universe to life!" he stated.

Masashi Kishimoto expressed his enthusiasm at seeing one of the greatest works of his life soon adapted by Hollywood. He even referred to the journey of this project as a series of miracles coming one after another.

"Right now, miracles are coming to me one after another. My work, NARUTO, is truly going to be a Hollywood film! And the even greater miracle is that this film will be directed by none other than Destin Daniel Cretton. I myself still find it hard to believe! With so many miracles gathered, I hope even more will come. I am very much looking forward to the amazing meeting with the passionate actors who will portray my characters. I can't wait to see them in this film!" said Kishimoto.

3. Legendary Manga with Hundreds of Millions of Copies Sold

NARUTO is one of the most successful manga of all time. As of now, the series has sold over 250 million copies and is marketed in more than 60 countries and regions around the world.

The story follows the journey of Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja who aspires to become Hokage, the leader and protector of the Village of Konoha.

This live-action film is produced by Avi Arad, Ari Arad, Emmy Yu, Jeremy Latcham, and Destin Daniel Cretton along with Jeyun Munford through the production house Hisako. Although the casting process has begun, Lionsgate has not yet announced the shooting schedule or the official release date of the film.
