Kapanlagi.com - The entertainment world in the country is mourning again. Senior actor Ray Sahetapy breathed his last at the Gatot Soebroto Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) on Tuesday (1/4/2025) night. His passing leaves a deep sorrow for family, friends, and colleagues, including actor Pangky Suwito.
When met at the Sentosa Block C funeral home on Wednesday (2/4/2025), Pangky Suwito expressed his sadness over Ray's passing. He remembered his friend as a good person who always provided valuable messages to those around him.
"We also lost him; he was a good person to everyone, always giving the best messages," said Pangky Suwito.
The news of Ray's passing has indeed shocked many. Pangky Suwito expressed that Ray's family is still in a state of grief, especially his son who came from America.
"We heard the news of his passing yesterday. Why did it happen so quickly? Because his son is from America, he was telling how it was. Maybe they were too happy or something, enthusiastic, and in the end, perhaps God has called him," he explained.
Pangky hopes that his friend finds the best place beside God and that the family left behind is given strength to face this trial. "Again, I hope he is given the best place beside Allah," he said.
Before passing away, Pangky had the chance to meet Ray at a birthday event for Rano Karno. At that time, Ray looked healthy and did not show any signs of being ill.
"I met him at Rano Karno's birthday. He was just fine, we talked, not like someone who was sick," he reminisced.
Despite that, Pangky acknowledged that Ray had indeed been suffering from illness for a long time. Even Ray's ex-wife had visited him before the actor took his last breath.
"He had been sick for a long time. The last time, his ex-wife came. He had indeed been sick for a long time," he revealed.
Ray's departure is a great loss for friends and colleagues in his profession. Many senior artists plan to come to pay their last respects.
"Everyone is losing a friend, they all want to come. There are senior artists who seem to want to come," said Pangky.
However, some colleagues still have busy work schedules, like Yati Octavia who is still busy with shooting a stripping show. Nevertheless, she plans to attend the funeral scheduled for Friday.
"Because Yati is also in the middle of stripping, chasing the airing schedule, she was still shooting during the second Eid. I also want to return to the shooting location. An extraordinary figure. We have lost, everyone has lost," said Pangky.
Pangky also mentioned that some friends plan to come to the mourning house if they have the chance. "Yati sent a message, the burial is on Friday. Later there will be some friends, maybe if they have time, they will come here," he concluded.
