"More tolerance, of course. Maybe if I didn't grow up in a different religion, maybe I wouldn't have a broad enough perspective on religious issues. According to me, what I can see from my dad is also a lot," said Jessica Mila.

She continued, "My dad is a very loving person, very patient. And I learned to be more patient, calmer, and surrender more to God from him. I think even though my mom and dad have different religions, they also have something, like complementing each other. I'm sure now I don't judge other people just based on 'this person's religion must be like this', no. According to me, every person is very different."

2. Mother's Message

However, Jessica still follows her mother's message to marry a man who shares the same faith. When asked about this, Jessica believes that her mother wants the best, especially after experiencing a mixed-faith marriage.

"She (my mother) said that at the beginning of the marriage, she experienced a very difficult situation for her because the marriage was almost falling apart. But because she knows that in the Christian religion, God hates divorce, she didn't want to divorce. So my dad asked my mom to convert, after a few years of marriage, but my mom refused," Jessica explained.

"Eventually, they became silent, still living in the same house but not communicating. According to my mom, it was very difficult at that time, but she managed to get through it. And she doesn't want me to experience the same thing in the future. Because my mom said, 'People can change, maybe now he accepts it. But no one knows in the future if he wants you to follow him and eventually cannot respect each other.'", she concluded.
