Kapanlagi.com - After disappearing from the screen for a while, Betawi comedian Mandra turns out to be busy running a culinary business with his family. The actor, known for his role in the soap opera SI DOEL ANAK SEKOLAHAN, has just opened a Betawi-style restaurant named ‘Dapur Ngacir’ built in his private home's yard.

He said the reason for opening the restaurant was because his wife and children have a hobby of cooking. In addition, Mandra also wants to train his children in business.

"(Opening a restaurant) has been about a month. Basically, it indirectly educates the children, meaning that it helps them have a step towards the future. Because it happens that the children have a hobby of cooking, and my wife also has a hobby of cooking," said Mandra when met at Dapur Ngacir in the Cimanggis area, Depok, West Java, on Monday (12/6).

1. Initially Not Confident

Initially, Mandra felt unsure about opening a restaurant business. However, because he received a lot of support from his family, Mandra finally realized his wife's desire.

"Initially, personally, I wasn't very confident because everyone always encourages me to open a restaurant when talking about food. But my wife tried to realize her desire, and it was also a positive step," he said.

2. Becomes a Meeting Place for Fans

According to Kapanlagi.com's observation, Mandra's restaurant has also become a meeting place for fans. Because the buyers who come continuously want to take photos together with Mandra. Even many from outside the city come to try the food at 'Dapur Ngacir'.

"See for yourself, I'm surprised too. Whether we like it or not, we have to accept that there are people from various regions who unexpectedly come from Kalimantan, Medan, not to mention from other provinces who intentionally want to meet me directly, want to eat together, and so on," said Mandra.

3. Overwhelmed

Mandra also admitted that he was overwhelmed by the number of buyers who came. He did not expect the enthusiasm of the people towards his newly established restaurant.

"What is certain is that we are overwhelmed because we did not expect it to be this crowded, we also did not expect such a response. There is pride, surprise, and also being taken aback, it's complete," he concluded.
