Pidi Baiq Says Novel 'CERITA ADE' is his Most Different Work, Reveals Nia Ramadhani's Early Career Journey and Rise After Drug Case

Writer Pidi Baiq admitted to being enthusiastic about working on a novel about the life journey of Nia Ramadhani. In fact, Pidi said that the novel is his most different work.

Previously, Pidi often wrote novels based on his own life experiences. Therefore, the novel titled CERITA ADE is a new experience for him as it is based on the life experiences of Ardi Bakrie's wife.

Pidi Baiq published his book titled CERITA ADE in April 2023. He revealed that the book tells the story of Nia Ramadhani's life.

"Oh yes, the last one I wrote for Nia Ramadhani, about her life story. The novel is titled Cerita Ade," said Pidi when met in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, on Monday (26/6/2023).

Since embarking on a career as a writer, Pidi admitted that he is not someone who writes based on imagination or fiction. He has been doing that since the beginning of his career.

"Except for that, everything is personal stories because otherwise, I would just be making things up, I'm not used to writing fictional novels," said Pidi.

Although he likes to write based on personal stories, not all of Pidi Baiq's writings come from his own experiences. It can come from family, friends, or anyone, as long as it is not purely fictional.

"By personal stories, I mean maybe it's someone close to me that I lift up, not made-up stories that actually never happened," he said.

Pidi wrote the novel CERITA ADE after exploring the life of Nia Ramadhani. Ade is Nia's nickname when she was still a child.

In the book, there are black-and-white stories of Ade's life, from the struggles of a career full of ups and downs to finally soaring through the soap operas Bawang Merah and Bawang Putih.

Not only that, there is also Nia's struggle to rise from the downturn caused by a drug case that happened to her some time ago.
