Pinkan Mambo Rolling on the Streets for Her Children's International School Fees

"This is for entering the German International School. The international fees are quite high, right? For one child, it can be around Rp20 million. There are three children, so that's Rp60 million," said Pinkan Mambo when met in the Tendean area of South Jakarta on Monday (6/4/2026).

In addition to the monthly fees, Pinkan also has to settle the arrears from her children's previous school. She admitted to still having debts in order to obtain her children's diplomas so they can continue their education to a higher level.

"That's the international school that I still owe money to, right? So, in order to get Lala's diploma, I have to pay off my previous debts, which is Rp20 million, so the total is already in the hundreds of millions. Now, how do I pay that? If I just sing at home, I earn very little. If I sing on the street, I can collect a lot more coins, you know," Pinkan revealed.

Pinkan feels that working hard in any way is her duty as a mother. For her, there is no time to feel ashamed as long as what she does is halal and can earn money for the future of her children.

"It's called work, rolling around, just imagine Beyonce is on the street. But this is actually Beyonce on top of Beyonce, because even Beyonce might not want to do that, Lisa BLACKPINK might not want to do that either," she said.

Although her actions invite pros and cons, Pinkan remains steadfast in her stance. She wants to provide the best education for Michelle and her siblings so that they can master various foreign languages and have a bright future.

"I roll around so that my child can go to an English school, so that my child can go to a good school. Not that I’m saying Indonesian is not good, no. Because I just want my child to learn all languages, to be able to speak Chinese, Korean. If it can be good, why not aim for the best? But it's all for Michelle too, for college," he concluded.
