Police Reveal How Fariz RM Obtained Drugs, Uncover Evidence and Penalties for the Musician

Kapanlagi.com - Veteran musician Fariz RM is in legal trouble again! On Wednesday (19/2/2025), police raided his residence in Bandung and found evidence of meth and marijuana. This arrest marks the fourth time in his career that has been marred by drug cases. The arrest process began from the development of a case involving his former driver with the initials ADK, who had been secured earlier.

The police arrested Fariz in Bandung after first securing a man with the initials ADK in North Jakarta, who is also suspected of being an intermediary in the drug transaction for Fariz RM. ADK was arrested on February 17, 2025, with evidence of marijuana. From there, the police sniffed out Fariz RM's involvement and quickly moved to secure him.

"For the modus operandi, the suspect ADK is an agent of the suspect RFM to buy narcotics in the form of methamphetamine and marijuana that are the evidence in this case," said the Deputy Head of the Narcotics Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Telly Areska Putra, Thursday (20/2/2025).

The police explained that ADK received payment each time a transaction was made. "ADK was instructed by RFM for each purchase of the evidence and received a payment of Rp100-Rp200 thousand," said Telly Areska.

This is not the first time Fariz RM has dealt with drugs. He was previously arrested in 2007, 2015, and August 2018. The previous cases involved marijuana, and now he is once again entangled with evidence of meth and marijuana. This recurring cycle of dependency raises significant questions about the rehabilitation efforts he has undergone.

This time, the police found evidence in the form of 0.89 grams of methamphetamine and 7.4 grams of marijuana, which is suspected to have been purchased by Fariz RM for personal consumption.

"For the evidence that we have temporarily seized, the amount of meth is 0.89 grams and the amount of marijuana is 7.4 grams," said Telly.

3. Chronology of the Arrest: From Bandung to Jakarta

Fariz RM and ADK were secured in different locations. ADK was first arrested in Sunter, North Jakarta, before the police finally apprehended Fariz RM in Bandung.

"On February 17-18, 2025, the first crime scene was on Jl. Sunter, Kemayoran, Sunter Jaya Village, Tanjung Priok District, North Jakarta. For the second crime scene, it was at the Jakarta Holiday shuttle travel, Jl. Dipati Pur no. 89, Lebak Gede, Coblong District, Bandung City, West Java," explained Telly.

The police initially arrested ADK in Jakarta with marijuana evidence. The case development led to Bandung, where Fariz RM was secured. After the arrest, Fariz RM was immediately taken to Jakarta for further examination at the South Jakarta Metro Police. Legal proceedings will commence as soon as the examination is completed.

4. Severe Penalties Await Fariz RM

With the evidence of meth and marijuana found, Fariz RM faces severe penalties in accordance with the Narcotics Law. For his actions, Fariz RM is charged under Article 111 paragraph 1, Article 112 paragraph 1, and Article 114 paragraph 1 of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics.

"The threat of punishment is 5-20 years in prison," concluded Telly Areska.
