Mona Ratuliu decided to wean her youngest child, Numa, at the age of 3. Since three months before Numa's birthday, Mona had explained to the little one that she had to stop nursing once she blew out the candles.
However, even though Numa seemed okay when given the explanation, it was not the case when it came to the actual practice on the day. Numa begged to keep nursing, and the first day of weaning was full of drama and tears.
The weaning process that Mona Ratuliu did with Numa did not go smoothly. Mona had to persuade Numa in various ways to let go of the habit of nursing before bed.
Mona had explained to Numa three months before the weaning agreement they had made, which was on the youngest child's birthday. However, Numa still asked for nursing before bed.
Mona pleaded with Numa in various ways. Her voice trembled as she tried to hold back her tears when she saw Numa still insisting on breastfeeding.
When Mona mentioned that Numa was already big and not suitable for breastfeeding anymore, Numa turned the words around and stated that she was still small and wanted to breastfeed.
After being pleaded with for so long, Numa finally agreed to sleep without breastfeeding. She chose to be patted to sleep. Mona was happy and praised Numa for growing up and getting taller. At first, Numa was happy because she was getting bigger and they continued to sleep.
However, drama ensued again in the middle of the night. Numa cried dramatically because she couldn't breastfeed anymore even though she was sleeping with Mona.
Numa's crying broke Mona's heart. Weaning is something that has to be done, as Numa is already over 2 years old. But even though she tried to be strong, Mona still felt heartbroken.
Mona promised to always be there for Numa, not to abandon her daughter just because she's no longer breastfeeding. Keep up the spirit, Numa!
