"I performed one song, definitely a duet with Glenn, this is the first time at a festival," said Mutia Ayu when met at Gambir Expo, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Friday (23/5/2025).

This performance is part of "Glenn Fredly Live by The Bakuucakar: Holographic Performance." The mother of one explained her reasons for agreeing to take the stage for this performance.

1. Not the First Time Duetting with a Hologram

"Yes, because this is indeed my duet song with him, so it's special for Soundfest to perform the song 'That's It' as a duet with the hologram of Glenn," she said.

It turns out this is not the first time Mutia has performed alongside Glenn's hologram. She previously performed the same song at the concert commemorating Glenn's 25 years of artistry.

"No, this is the second time, the first was at Glenn's 25-year concert, this is the second time with the hologram," she revealed.

2. Regarding the Use of Glenn Fredly's Hologram License

Mutia also explained about the permission for using Glenn's hologram on stage. She emphasized that everything must go through management and still with her consent as his wife.

"Actually, this hologram is for anyone and they can contact the management, but for me personally, all IP regarding Glenn goes through management, definitely with my permission," she explained.

3. Special Duet Song with the Late Husband

The song 'Itu Saja' has a personal meaning for Mutia Ayu because it was released during their anniversary. She said that whenever there is a hologram of Glenn, she will also perform.

"Actually, the song 'Itu Saja' was released in 2021, it was my anniversary song with Glenn, and yes, it was the first song I duetted with Glenn, so coincidentally, for the concept, the hologram was held. So every time I duet with Glenn, if there is a hologram, I will definitely be there," she said.

4. Glenn Fredly's Hologram Can Be Made on Request

Mutia Ayu also clarified the issue of permission for Glenn's hologram appearance at various events. According to her, it's not just for concerts but can be made on request.

"Not really, regarding the IP, it's not just for concerts, anything related to Glenn, whether it's his photos, his songs, anything about Glenn. So it depends on the request, it's not just for certain concerts," she explained.

5. Glenn's Company is Still Actively Managing Copyrights

Regarding the use of Glenn's songs by other musicians, Mutia stated that everything must go through management. She emphasized that Glenn's company is still active and managing all copyright matters.

"That's right, first the songs go through management because as of now, up to this second, Glenn's company is still standing, related to all song works, everything. Surely anything regarding Bakuucakar, regarding the songs, Glenn goes to management," explained Mutia.

6. How did the love story between Mutia Ayu and Glenn Fredly unfold?

Mutia Ayu met Glenn Fredly in 2016 through an Instagram message, but initially did not respond immediately because she was dating a man from Colombia. Glenn was patient and continued to try until they finally got married on August 19, 2019, in a private wedding attended only by family and close friends, held in a garden party concept in South Jakarta. Despite the 20-year age difference and differing religions (Mutia is Muslim and Glenn is Christian), they managed to build a harmonious relationship.

7. How does Mutia Ayu remember Glenn Fredly five years after his passing?

Mutia regularly remembers her late husband in various ways: visiting his grave on every anniversary of Glenn's passing, inviting their daughter, Gewa, to pray and lay roses at the tomb.
