"In early 2021, I was diagnosed with kidney failure / Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) after a medical check-up. My kidney filtration function (GFR) was only 16%. The symptoms were back pain and easily getting tired! I thought it was normal, but it turned out to be symptoms of CKD," Shena revealed on her Twitter page.

Shena was shocked by her health condition and even contemplated suicide. She immediately felt down and kept wondering why she had to experience this. "I thought about ending it, just end it, just end it. Don't bother yourself. Sigh, don't imitate, guys," Shena wrote.

At the beginning of her kidney failure diagnosis, Shena had not undergone hemodialysis yet. At that time, her kidney condition was still above 10% and could be supported by medication.

Shena's condition worsened when the doctor found out that the cause of her kidney disease was lupus nephritis. From the doctor's explanation, Shena learned that there is no specific cause for lupus, the disease can affect anyone without exception. However, for obese patients, 70% of lupus cases will always relapse.

After undergoing outpatient treatment for several months, Shena's kidney condition worsened. Eventually, since 2 months ago, she had to undergo dialysis for a few times, as her kidney function was only 6 percent remaining.

Shena had to give up many of her favorite foods and reduce her exercise. She had to limit her food intake to prevent further deterioration of her kidney condition.

Some time ago, a tube was inserted in Shena's neck for the hemodialysis process. She admitted to being traumatized by the painful process of dialysis.

Shena's kidney condition cannot be treated anymore, except through a kidney transplant. She initially denied the worsening of her kidney function when the lab results showed it. Due to stress, she lost 3 kilograms in weight, but it further aggravated her kidney condition.

The tube around Shena's neck is a temporary tool while waiting for the CIMINO process. However, the process of dialysis with the CIMINO procedure is equally painful and torturous, so Shena often goes to the hospital crying because she imagines the pain.
