Since moving to Canada, Tengku Firmansyah has switched professions to become a welder. A job that he never imagined he would do, as Firman is a well-known actor in Indonesia.
However, Firman is seriously pursuing a profession as a welder in Canada. He works with enthusiasm at a company and admits that his job is quite heavy.
However, becoming a welder in Canada is not easy. Besides the heavy work, Firman is also required to gain formal education by going to college.
In order to get a raise, Firman took a test to enter college in the welding engineering program. "Alhamdulillah for Allah's help I was able to pass the test because to study to become a welder here you must pass the English, science, and math tests first.. it’s called the Entrance Exam.. my head felt like it was going to explode while working on the exam.. I only had a month of weekend study preparation during my work break.. alhamdulillah I was able to pass," Firman wrote on his personal Instagram page.
After passing the college entrance exam, Firman will begin his studies. Starting college again at the age of 47 while working is certainly not easy for Firman, but he is excited to pursue it in order to get a raise.
Returning to study engineering at the age of 47 with a background in English was unimaginable for Firman. But he is confident he can manage it to secure a better income.
