This woman, born on May 27, 2021, made history as the first Indonesian shooting athlete to qualify for the Olympics without a wildcard.
Vidya earned her ticket to the Olympics after scoring 625.4 in the women's 10-meter rifle event at the 2019 Asian Shooting Championship in Qatar. Despite only ranking 14th, her score exceeded the Olympic qualification limit of 625 set by the International Shooting Sport Federation.
During her preparation for the Tokyo Olympics, Vidya participated in the 2021 ISSF World Championships in India last March and won a bronze medal in the team event for the 50-meter rifle three positions.
Still in the same event, Vidya ranked ninth in the individual 10 meter Air rifle women's category with a score of 627.8. Vidya also participated in a competition in Croatia as a practice before the Olympics, in early July.
