Actress Nadya Arina has previously portrayed the character of a hijab-wearing woman in a movie. Due to the strong association with her role, when Nadya posted photos and videos without a hijab on social media, it raised questions from netizens.

What Nadya did not like was that netizens criticized her for not covering her aurat. However, they should understand that she does not wear a hijab in her daily life.
"My previous film received a lot of response from people as if I was the character in the film (wearing a hijab)," Nadya said at Epicentrum XXI, Rasuna Said area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (26/6/2024).
"When I am being myself, there are some people who criticize and say 'Why don't you wear a hijab?'. But I haven't worn a hijab," she firmly stated.
However, Nadya Arina is now calm in facing such reactions. She often explains that her job as an actress requires her to portray a character that is opposite to her real self.
"The roles I take on make people assume that's how I am in real life," said the girl born on October 15, 1997.
It became a lesson for me and for them that reality is not like that. It's just a character, a job, in real life we have a different journey," she continued.
Upon realizing that she does not wear a hijab in real life, netizens asked Nadya Arina to quickly cover herself. Instead of feeling uncomfortable, she actually asked for prayers to strengthen her hijab.
"Isn't it uncomfortable? The response is more like 'Just pray'. Because everyone's journey is different. Don't let us make decisions without knowing their purpose, without feeling fulfilled with our choices," said Nadya Arina.
