The anger from many parties about the use of the names Muhammad and Maria in an alcohol promotion is understood and responded to by Gus Miftah. As an Islamic scholar, Gus Miftah explains the meaning and how the name Muhammad is honored in Islam.

"Regarding the anger about the name Muhammad, I read one maqolah from Imam Malik, 'There is no house with the name Muhammad that gets so many blessings.' What does that mean? Just a name alone has a big influence, because 'On the day of judgment, you will be called by your name and your father's name.' So fix your name, and one of the good names is the name of the Prophet Muhammad," said Gus Miftah when met in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta not long ago.

"That's why many Muslims give names with Muhammad, so that they get blessings from the name of Muhammad," he continued.

1. Playing with Religion

When seeing the installation of a promotion giving free alcohol to owners with the names Muhammad and Maria, Gus Miftah considers this as a form of playing with religion. Therefore, Gus Miftah highly appreciates parties that take legal action.

"There is one party considered to be playing around with the name Muhammad. Personally, I appreciate friends who take legal steps, even though there are those who are outside of it.
