Rachel Vennya Posts Photo Without Hijab, Mother: Not Changing Religion!

This post raised suspicions whether Rachel has now removed her hijab. Amidst the confusing news about Rachel's hijab, her mother, Vien Tasman, spoke up about her daughter's post.

"Well, she posted it on her IG. She posted it herself. Maybe (for a photoshoot). I don't know either. Those are old photos. Well, if she posts without a hijab, why?" Vien asked when contacted by the media on Tuesday (22/12).

1. Not Changing Religion

Vien also emphasized that Rachel Vennya did not convert to another religion. Even if Rachel were to remove her hijab, it would not change her belief as a Muslim.

"Well, I am a Muslim. Muslims still believe in Islam. Still obedient to Allah, still. But when it comes to hijab, it's like we're trying. For auntie, even if we remove the hijab, it doesn't mean we're changing religion, right? It doesn't mean we're not faithful. It's just the netizens who like to speculate," she explained.

2. There are times when you want to take off

Vien added, there are times when a Muslim woman who wears hijab also wants to take it off. So what Rachel did is not strange.

"There are many good people who don't wear hijab. Maybe they are trying to figure out how to wear hijab. Maybe there are times when they want to take it off. If you want to wear it all the time, then wear it all the time. If you want to try taking it off, then it's between us and the One Above. We do everything, whatever we do, we have thought about it. We try to live our lives with what makes us comfortable," Vien continued.
