After successfully holding a number of concerts in various countries in Asia and Australia last year, the Japanese rock band, RADWIMPS, announced their return to Indonesia. They are ready to bring their latest tour titled 'The Way You Yawn, and the Outcry of Peace' to Jakarta on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Beach City International Stadium, Ancol.
Since their official debut in 2005, this band has managed to capture the attention of many people and successfully formed a strong fanbase while they are still relatively new. Despite being in the music industry for a long time, RADWIMPS is also popular among young music lovers.
Until now, RADWIMPS has released 9 albums and gained recognition through their works that filled the soundtrack albums for Makoto Shinkai's animated films, which were successful worldwide, titled 'YOUR NAME' (2016) and 'WEATHERING WITH YOU' (2019). Their contributions to these two films also brought RADWIMPS to the Japanese Academy Award for the 'Best Original Score' category.
Their musical activities have also expanded beyond Japan through their tours to various parts of the world. In 2022, RADWIMPS collaborated with renowned film music composer, Kazuma Jinnouchi, to create the score for Makoto Shinkai's latest film, 'SUZUME'. The film achieved great success, earning over USD $300 million (or equivalent to IDR 4.6 billion) globally and receiving a Golden Globe nomination.
This concert tour is highly anticipated by RADWIMPS fans who haven't had the chance to see them perform on stage last July. Let's check out some information about RADWIMPS' concert below!
