Raffi Ahmad Mentioned About the Habit of Venting and Indirectly Insulting on Social Media: Don't Compare It to a Diary!

The husband of Nagita Slavina, who now has 42.5 million followers on Instagram, reminded people to be wiser in using social media and not to compare it to a diary.

"But what needs to be realized by the current generation is that social media is not a place for them to vent like a diary. That's what needs to be realized," said Raffi Ahmad during an Instagram live on @kemenkominfo, Thursday (2/7).

"They unintentionally might do it. For example, Yosi meets me suddenly and Yosi (says) she's annoyed because she met Raffi but she wrote it on social media. Well, that's wrong," he continued.

That is what society, especially the millennial generation, needs to realize, to be more careful when sharing personal issues on social media because the impact can be significant.

"Social media is a public platform, for us to use for something that has an impact on the wider community. The first thing society needs to understand is that social media, whether it's Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, or any other digital platform, should not be treated as a personal diary," said Nagita Slavina's husband.

2. Social Media Has a Digital Record

Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Johnny G Plate, agrees with Raffi Ahmad's statement that everything uploaded on social media has a digital footprint. That's why Johnny G Plate is currently targeting a bill for personal data protection.

"If we make a mistake in a diary, we can cross it out or tear the page, we can burn it and keep it to ourselves. But if we make a mistake in the digital space and post it on social media, there is a digital record. This is dangerous, which is why as the Minister of Communication and Information Technology, I strongly encourage the completion of the plan for a personal data protection law," concluded Johnny G Plate.
