Rara Pawang Hujan MotoGP Mandalika Responds to BMKG's Claim & Responds to Fabio Quartararo who Mimics Her Action

Kapanlagi.com - Rara Istiati Wulandari is the Indonesian MotoGP Rain Shaman at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, March 18-20, 2022. Rara, who has been the subject of discussion, finally spoke out about herself on the 'Close The Door' podcast hosted by Deddy Corbuzier. Rara admitted that she wasn't supposed to be in the race according to the SOP.

"The Dorna team has many people, there are cameramen, and so on. They came a week before the event, and they already knew that Rara would pray, even though according to the SOP, it is not allowed during the race. I said, 'Today BMKG predicted that it would rain heavily', and the direction of the rain was towards the west and east," said Rara quoted from Deddy Corbuzier's YouTube on (25/3).

As is known, the MotoGP race on Sunday (20/3/2022) was delayed for nearly 2 hours due to heavy rain. Previously, the Moto3 and Moto2 races were held in dry and hot weather. When the rain didn't stop, Rara appeared in the racers' garage and on the straight track to perform her ritual.

BMKG claimed that the heavy rain in Mandalika subsided not because of the ritual performed by Rara. The rain stopped because its duration had already ended. However, Rara didn't feel upset, and instead was grateful that BMKG reported it to the public. 

1. Response to BMKG's Claim

Responding to BMKG's statement, Rara mentioned that it was also not separate from the prayers she had offered. The woman who has been a rain shaman since the age of nine said that she also follows information from BMKG.

"Regarding the statement from BMKG, I am actually very grateful. It is time for the rain to stop, because Rara's answer is a blessing from prayer. Because if we want to open the data again, I do have BMKG's hourly estimates. I took screenshots of each hour sent by BMKG," continued the woman who claimed to be employed by MGPA and ITDC.

2. Once Depressed

Not much is known, but Rara apparently felt pressured when trying to control the rain in Mandalika. This happened because many were skeptical of her efforts. Nevertheless, her spirit was lifted again when she saw Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, who witnessed her ritual, as well as when she remembered the hard work of the committee.

"I was actually only allowed to be at the 'Pertamina' sign (pitlane exit), then I said I wanted to go to the middle. That's mental, because people were already saying, 'Rain Shaman got rained on? Failed?' but I didn't listen," said Rara.

"Whether it's suggestion or not, but when I walked I saw the faces of Mr. Jokowi, I saw the face of Mr. Erick Thohir, the faces of marshal friends and friends who prepared all of this, I felt that Indonesia deserved to hold this event. Finally, Rara told God that she wanted to gather all the good energy," Rara's story.

3. Equipment During Rain Shaman Ritual

Rara was also asked by Deddy Corbuzier about the equipment and tools she uses in performing rain shaman rituals.

Some of them are chili, incense, coffee, and also a Rp 11 million singing bowl commonly used for meditation.

When explaining the singing bowl to Deddy, Rara also remembered Monster Energy Yamaha rider, Fabio Quartararo, who imitated her actions from inside the garage.

4. Fabio Quartararo Finishes Second After Imitating Her Actions

At that time, the rider nicknamed El Diablo was caught imitating Rara's style with a paper cup and ice cream spoon. Hilariously, the bowl held by the French rider fell.

"This (bowl) is what Fabio imitated. This is called a singing bowl. This is for meditation, because when we become rain shamans, it's meditative in nature. This is good luck. Fabio played like this, imitating Rara, and ended up finishing second!" exclaimed Rara, recalling that Quartararo finished second behind Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider, Miguel Oliveira.
