Mey Chan lived in Singapore after marrying a man named Liam. That was one of the reasons why she took a break from the entertainment industry in the country.
However, their relationship seems to have not lasted long. After divorcing, this 36-year-old woman decided to return to Indonesia and start her career again.
"Originally, we got married, then lived in Singapore, and then it ended for Duo MAIA. After that, I divorced and returned to Indonesia to work again," said Mey Chan in the Mampang area, South Jakarta, on November 24, 2022, as quoted by Intipseleb.
Mey Chan mentioned that her desire to go to Indonesia was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic that started to spread. After the pandemic started to subside, she decided to pursue her career again in her homeland.
"Then, it was put on hold because of the pandemic, so I went on a vacation. Now that people are no longer as afraid of COVID, it's time to work again," she said.
In addition to returning to a career in the entertainment world, Mey Chan also mentioned that she has changed her name. She explained about her new stage name.
"Previously, I was called Mey Chan, then Dita Anggraini, so I decided to use the name Dita Mey Chan. So, whether people call me Dita or Mey Chan, it's okay," she explained.
"(The reason for changing the name) is because my mom passed away at that time. So, I wanted to use the name given by my parents, Dita Anggraini, but Luna Maya said that people only know me as Mey Chan, she said, you can't use the name Dita, people will be confused. Who is Dita? So, it's better to stick with the name Mey Chan, so I decided to use the name Dita Mey Chan," concluded Dita Mey Chan.
