Record-breaking Achievement, Content Creator Veby Senopati Silam Breaks MURI Record for Running 200 Kilometers

Kapanlagi.com - Content Creator, Influencer, and runner Veby Senopati Silam has recently achieved a remarkable milestone in his life. He has been crowned as the first commercial sailor to complete the 200-kilometer Ultra Marathon.

He made this record in the Binloop Ultra 2024 event. The result he achieved in the Ultra Marathon, which took place from May 3-5, 2024, at Ruko Kebayoran Square, Bintaro, South Tangerang, has made this runner from Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, break the MURI record as the first commercial sailor to complete the Ultra Marathon championship.

Veby himself participated in the 200-kilometer marathon tournament starting from his hobby of running. He admitted that he started participating in running tournaments in Indonesia, starting with five kilometers.

"So, eventually I made time while teaching. Because I enjoy running, I joined running events. Eventually, I went from five kilometers, 10 kilometers, to a full marathon (42 km)," said Veby Senopati Silam when met in South Jakarta on Tuesday (4/6).

1. Continue to Improve Performance

Slowly but surely, Veby continues to strive to improve her abilities. She has also started to increase the level of marathon tournaments from a distance of 10 kilometers to 100 kilometers.

However, Veby's efforts were hindered by the Covid 19 pandemic. Nevertheless, Veby decided to continue training until she dared to participate in a marathon with a three-digit distance.

"Finally, I participated in the event from the beginning, I started with 50, then upgraded to 100, then 120, 160, and finally 200 (km)," she said.
"So, gradually and not instantly," she added.

2. Once Participated in Tokyo Marathon

The Bintaro Ultra Marathon is the latest tournament participated by Veby. Prior to that, she had participated in the Tokyo Marathon 2024, which is part of the Six Star World Marathon Majors.

Currently, Veby plans to complete the Six Star WMM series. She is determined to become the first Indonesian merchant sailor to complete all six world marathons.
