Regrettable Action of Adam Deni in Spreading Ahmad Sahroni's Personal Documents, Public Prosecutor: Just Send Them to the Authorities

Kapanlagi.com - The trial of the case involving social media activist Adam Deni was held at the North Jakarta District Court on Monday (14/3). The trial was scheduled for the indictment of Adam Deni and another defendant, Ni Made Dwita Anggari.

In the trial, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) read out the indictment against Adam Deni and Ni Made Dwita Anggari before the panel of judges. Both were deemed to have violated the privacy right by spreading electronic documents related to the purchase of a bicycle belonging to the Deputy Chairman of Commission III, Ahmad Sahroni.

1. Violating Article 48

They were both charged with violating Article 48 Paragraph (3) jo Article 32 Paragraph (3) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions as amended by the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 19 of 2016, Jo Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code. In the indictment, the prosecutor assessed that what Adam Deni and Ni Made had done had violated the privacy right protected by law.

2. Submit to the Authorities

"(Adam Deni should have) Just submit it to the authorities," said the Public Prosecutor in front of the North Jakarta District Court judges.

"Instead of spreading it and violating the privacy right that is confidential," he continued.

3. Upload Electronic Documents

It is known that Adam Deni also posted electronic documents belonging to Ahmad Sahroni on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in North Jakarta through Instagram Story. In the post, Adam Deni provided information on the electronic document with an unboxing package from abroad ready to be sent to the KPK, but when he found out about the contents of the post, the prosecutor said that Ahmad Sahroni was quite surprised.

4. Buy and Sell Transactions

“Not long after, on the same day and date, while at home, the victim was surprised to see Adam Deni's post,” said the Public Prosecutor.

It is known that Adam Deni himself obtained the electronic document from Ni Made, who is also a defendant. Ni Made, as stated by the Prosecutor, has conducted several bicycle buy and sell transactions with Ahmad Sahroni.
