Residents Reject Hengky Kurniawan's House as a Resting Place for Covid-19 Medical Workers

Kapanlagi.com - Hengky Kurniawan expressed concern over the lack of resting places for medical workers. They have been working hard to help recover patients affected by Covid-19.

Through an Instagram post, Hengky Kurniawan announced that his house in Pejaten, South Jakarta, can be used as a resting place for medical staff and Covid-19 volunteers. However, this good intention was rejected by the surrounding residents.

"I heard that some residents nearby rejected it. This can be taken into consideration. The most important thing is that I have conveyed that I allow the house to be used for resting," said Hengky when contacted by phone on Friday (3/4).

1. Central Government Communication

The man who currently resides in Bandung and serves as the Deputy Regent of West Bandung admitted that he has not yet obtained permission regarding the existing post. He leaves everything to Anies Baswedan's team, who will communicate with the residents if they want to use the residence.

"Regarding communication with the residents, I have stated from the beginning that it should be the central government who communicates. Because I can't go to Jakarta now, we are here continuously working on Covid-19 prevention," said the husband of artist Sonya Fatmala.

2. Uninhabited for Two Years

Hengky Kurniawan admitted that he has not been occupying the house for two years. There used to be an employee who took care of the residence before eventually quitting.

"So there hasn't been any communication with the residents because I don't have a team in Jakarta. I used to have an employee who handled matters with the neighborhood association. But because it has been a long time since we last communicated, I didn't have a chance to contact them," he added.
